Arboricola (Schefflera arboricola)

The Arboricola, also called the Dwarf Schefflera or Umbrella Tree due to the shape of the leaves, is a common foundation plant often pruned to use as a hedge. The shrub is moderately salt-tolerant and very drought-tolerant with glossy green leaves which fan out in a rounded crown. This shrub may grow to 10 feet tall but is often pruned back to showcase the foliage. The plant can tolerate some frost to temperatures in the upper 20’s making it a dependable evergreen plant.
