Ixora – Red (Ixora coccinia)

Ixora is a beautiful blooming evergreen shrub that is low maintenance. The Red Ixora, also called Flame of the Woods, has wide flower clusters spreading up to four inches in deep orange-red colors with glossy leaves. The plant produces the maximum number of flowers when grown in full sun; however, it can tolerate partial shade as well as moderate levels of salt. Ixora are often used as foundation plantings and respond well to pruning. If unpruned, Ixora can reach heights of 12 feet enabling it to be a great privacy screen.
